Tips/ Review on choosing watercolour paper
Today I went to Art Friend to take a look at the various watercolour papers.
The things to look at when buying watercolour paper are
its thickness and weight (gsm),
whether acid free / archival so that paper will not discolour over time.
whether cold pressed/ hot pressed. Cold pressed is rough texture, whereas hot pressed is smooth.
Brands -
Arches: 100% cotton, mould made, cold pressed
Bockingford: 300gsm, mould made, cold pressed
Daler Rowney: acid free, 300 gsm, cold pressed
Langton (Daler Rowney) : mould made, acid free, 300 gsm, cold pressed
